“A new EAU chapter for endourology in Rome”

“A new EAU chapter for endourology in Rome”

By Prof. Bhaskar Somani and Prof. Olivier Traxer, Research Lead and Chair of the EAU Endourology Section, respectively

The European Association of Urology is proud to invite the global urology community to Rome on 27–29 November 2025 for the inaugural International Conference on Endourology (ICE25) – an exciting new-format meeting led by the EAU’s recently established Endourology section.

ICE25 marks a bold step forward in the way we meet, share, and innovate in endourology. Designed to offer a dedicated and immersive experience, its scientific programme will span the entire spectrum of endourological practice, from upper to lower tract interventions, encompassing ureteroscopy, PCNL, BPH surgery, management of urothelial and prostate tumours, focal therapies, and the latest laparoscopic technologies. With a diverse and high-calibre faculty, the event will offer unparalleled access to the latest evidence, technologies, and techniques shaping modern endourology.

This is not just another meeting. ICE25 is set to redefine the way we present and discuss endourology by prioritising depth, interaction, and innovation. One of the key highlights of the programme will be “as-live” surgical case presentations: full-length, high-quality surgical videos shown with live moderation, giving attendees the rare chance to observe complex procedures in detail, with real-time insight from the operating surgeon and expert panel. Expect in-depth, nuanced discussion, beyond the edited highlights, that reflects real-world clinical decision-making.

New-format abstract sessions

Scientific rigour will be at the heart of the meeting. The abstract sessions at ICE25 will adopt a new, longer-format approach, allowing selected authors to present their work in more depth than typical meeting formats allow. Delegates will benefit from a clearer understanding of study design, outcomes, and relevance, creating a richer and more meaningful exchange of ideas.

In addition, the programme will include state-of-the-art plenary and thematic sessions, interactive symposia, and hands-on training opportunities for participants at all levels. ICE25 will also serve as a platform to showcase the important registry work that the EAU Endourology Section is leading or contributing to, as well as the most impactful research and publications in the field from the past year.

Challenger Session

A particular highlight will be the ICE25 Challenger Session, where leading endourologists from five continents will compete in a spirited and collegial contest to be named “Best Endourologist in the World 2025”. Representing Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and South America, these five experts will demonstrate their surgical prowess, decision-making, and innovation in front of an international audience.

ICE25 reflects the EAU’s commitment to global leadership and excellence in endourology. It will be a forum not only for knowledge exchange, but for shaping the future of our field. Whether you’re a trainee, an academic, or a seasoned expert, ICE25 will offer something new: a chance to reflect, refine, and reimagine endourology.

Join us in the eternal city this November and be part of this important new chapter. ICE25 will not just be another meeting, it will be a milestone of many more to come.
