Italian pharmaceutical companies – AIFA Authorisation requirement As the congress will take place in Italy, all pharmaceutical companies participating in any way – whether Italian or international – must obtain AIFA authorisation. This requirement applies to all companies that manufacture, or market drugs related to the topics of the congress. To initiate the authorisation process via the AIFA web portal, companies must provide their SIS code no later than 19 September. According to Italian legislation, any Marketing Authorisation Holder or pharmaceutical company involved—either directly or indirectly—in organising a congress or meeting in Italy (or abroad) on topics related to the use of medicines in Italy must notify the competent unit of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) at least 60 days prior to the event. This ensures that the event complies with strict technical standards and contributes to scientific knowledge in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, biochemistry, physiology, pathology, or clinical medicine. Atlante Viaggi has been appointed as the official agency for handling AIFA submissions. They will support sponsors and exhibitors in completing the necessary formalities. Pharmaceutical companies requiring AIFA authorisation are advised to contact: Barbara Mantegazza
